The New York State Senate passed S9263, a bill to amend the Tax Law sponsored by Senator Hinchey, on a 42-16 vote. The measure, which takes effect immediately, drew opposition from 16 senators including Canzoneri-Fitzpatrick, Felder, Gallivan, Helming, Lanza, Mannion, Martinez, O'Mara, Ortt, Palumbo, Rhoads, Scarcella-Spanton, Skoufis, Tedisco, Webb and Weik. No floor debate was recorded on the bill prior to the roll call vote. Acting President Bailey noted the apparent interest in local taxation matters during the voting process.
